Exercises in reading about art, observing art, talking and writing about art, will develop the student’s ability to articulate and critique all kinds of art works. Students shall be launched to and practice techniques for studying, thinking, writing and talking critically as applied to art. Emphasis will be on growing skills in composition, perspective, worth, quantity, craftsmanship, and working from remark. A studio course dealing with the weather and ideas of design. Emphasis on two-dimensional composition, craftsmanship, expressive skills and colour theory. At the discretion of the trainer in cost, tasks accomplished by students in art courses may be retained for show purposes till after the Annual Student Art Exhibit in the spring semester. Art students will be in a position to reap the benefits of the newly-equipped computer lab with terminals for each pupil, a colour printer, a Color One Scanner, and some of the newest software for design, illustrating, and photo imaging.
Evans’ mother had previously enrolled him in music and singing lessons, but when he attended a friend’s dance recital at age thirteen, the artform resonated with him deeply. Each of us—all college students, school and staff—is also required to conform to the UArts Healthy Promise.
